FILM STUDY: "A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS"

 ~ Wednesday, June 18 from 10:00am to 12:30pm | Click to Register

Academy Award winning film “A Man For All Seasons” depicts the conflict between St. Thomas More and King Henry VIII.  When the King could not get a Papal annulment for his illegitimate marriage, his next move was to separate from the Catholic Church and declare himself the head of the Church of England. This brought him into conflict with his Chancellor, Thomas More, a staunch Catholic.  The film dramatizes the conflict and the high stakes that Thomas faces to remain true to his conscience. Jim Pepitone is the discussion leader. A free will donation will be welcomed. For further information contact Sr. Patricia Cigrand, ASCJ at 203-606-4830 or email: cigrandpatricia@gmail.com

ABOUT US

Sacred Heart on the Lake, a ministry of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was established in 1964 as a respite for the Sisters. It is now also a hospitality and retreat ministry. The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is an international Congregation of women religious founded in Italy by Blessed Clelia Merloni in 1894. Our mission is to make the compassionate Heart of Christ better known, loved and served. We do this by personal and communal witness to the Gospel, commitment to growth in holiness and ministry to the people of God.
